I am paid a retainer, then I earn a percentage on each load I carry, my employer refuses to give details of how much each job has paid so it is impossable to check my wages. also, from the percentage an amount is deducted to cover fuel %26amp; admin ect.
I believe I am being ripped off as the weeks I am carriying higher value loads pays the same as lower value loads. Is it legal for my employer to withold information on how my wages are calculated. it is impossable to check?
Contact your state labor board. The company probably has to tell you how they calculate your pay, but the state can tell you for sure and if they are breaking the laws, the state will get on their case for you.
I also question the deduction for fuel and administrative costs. I know that would be illegal in some states.
Why would the value of the load matter? I can see a difference if it's a hazardous load.
