I really want to make a donation of used apparel/bedding/household items but I have no idea of how I should appraise them. I want to take full advantage of the tax deduction for my donation but I would not like to overestimate the value of it. Yeah, your best bet is to go into a Salvation Army store, and see what they are selling similar items for. Then just appraise your items based on that.
